Getting Started

How do I get started?

Create a free account, tell us about your student, and book your first session with the 0.5 session credits we add at sign-up. Most families go from sign-up to first session inside a week.

Can I try a session before paying?

Yes. Every new account starts with 0.5 session credits, free, and no card is required to claim them. If it does not click, you have spent nothing.

Who creates the account, a parent or the student?

Students aged 13 and over can sign up themselves. For anyone younger, a parent or guardian creates and manages the account. That is a legal requirement under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, and it also keeps billing and progress reports in one place.

Why did you email me to confirm consent?

If your student is under 13, the law requires us to get your verifiable consent before collecting anything about them. So we send you an email explaining exactly what we collect and why, and your session credits are added once you confirm. The same email explains how to withdraw consent at any time, and you can review or delete your student’s information whenever you want.

What subjects do you cover?

Elementary math through college courses: algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics, SAT/ACT and AP prep, plus Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Discrete Math. If it has numbers in it, ask.

Sessions

Are sessions virtual or in person?

Virtual sessions are available anywhere. In-person sessions are currently unavailable while we prepare for a future South Florida launch.

What do we need for a virtual session?

A laptop or tablet with a camera and a stable connection. The classroom runs in your browser, with live video and a shared whiteboard. There is nothing to install.

How long is a session, and what does it cost?

You choose the length when you book, from 30 minutes to two hours. Most tutors cost one credit per hour, and some specialists cost more. The exact credit cost is shown before you confirm.

Can I reschedule or cancel a booking?

Yes, free up to 24 hours before the session. Inside 24 hours the credit is spent, because your tutor has reserved that time for you. If a tutor cannot make it, you are always fully re-credited.

Do you offer group sessions?

Not today. Every session is one to one. Siblings can share a single credit pool under one subscription on our top plan, but each books their own sessions.

Tutors

How are tutors vetted?

Every tutor is vetted before they take a session, and the part that matters most is that they have recently sat the course they teach. Most are current university students or recent graduates who aced it themselves, which is why they remember where it gets confusing.

Can I pick my own tutor?

Yes, on every plan. Browse the directory, read their profiles, and book whoever fits. Or tell us your goals and we will match you.

Can I switch tutors if it is not a good fit?

Yes, and it costs nothing. Tell us what is not working and we will match you with someone else. Finding the right fit matters more to us than filling a slot.

Billing

How do session credits work?

Each plan gives you a set number of credits every month. Credits are spent when you book, based on the length of the session and the tutor you choose. You always see the exact cost before you confirm.

Do unused credits roll over?

Yes, up to a point. Unused credits roll over while your plan is active, capped at one month’s worth, so you can never carry more than two months of credits at once. Credits expire 90 days after they are issued.

Can I switch plans or cancel?

Any time, from your account. There is no contract and no cancellation fee. Changes take effect at your next billing date, and you keep access through the period you have already paid for.

FourPointOh AI

What is FourPointOh AI?

An AI math tutor for the moments between sessions, included with every plan. Type a problem or upload a photo of it and it walks you through the steps. Entry-level plans include a monthly message allowance and higher plans include full access; current limits are listed on the Pricing page.

Is the AI tutor available to younger students?

Not on accounts for students under 13. Using it means sending a student’s questions to an outside AI provider, and consenting to that is a separate decision from consenting to tutoring. Everything else on the account works normally, and human sessions are unaffected.

Will the AI just do my child’s homework?

No. It is built to teach rather than to answer. It asks the next question and makes the student find the step themselves. Answers with no work shown are exactly what we are against.

Every billing detail, including rollover caps and extra credits, lives on the Pricing page.

Still Curious?

Ask a human and we will usually reply within a few hours. Or ask the AI tutor right now.
