Math anxiety is not a personality trait. It is usually what happens when the explanation did not land and nobody noticed in time.
We started FourPointOh because we kept meeting bright students who had fallen behind in maths, not because they were not capable, but because they had not found the right teacher yet.
Our job is to change that. We match every student with a tutor who fits how they learn, builds their confidence, and helps them see maths as something they can do rather than something that happens to them.
Meet Our TutorsEvery tutor has recently sat the course they teach.

Every decision starts with one question: what is best for the student?
We work hard for grades and scores, and we will not promise a number we cannot guarantee.
We teach students to understand the maths deeply, not to memorise formulas until the test.
Virtual sessions mean a good tutor is not something only some postcodes get.
FourPointOh started in South Florida with one specific frustration: the tutor who helps most is rarely the one with the longest résumé. It is usually the one who sat the same exam recently enough to remember exactly where it got confusing.
So that is who we hire. Every tutor here has recently taken the course they teach. Most are university students or recent graduates who aced it themselves, which means they explain it the way it finally made sense to them, not the way a textbook lays it out.
It also changes the room. A seventeen-year-old who is stuck on related rates will admit it to someone who was stuck on it two years ago. That admission is usually the whole session.
Not more homework. Not more drilling. Someone close enough to the material to show you where it clicks.
New accounts start with 0.5 session credits, free, and no card is required. Meet a tutor who just aced the course you are working on.
